UPT20 becomes 10th state-based T20 cricket league in India
New Delhi: The Uttar Pradesh Cricket Association on Thursday revealed that they will be starting their own T20 league called ‘UPT20’ which will begin on August 30 and will go on till September 16. The matches of the first season will be held at Green Park Stadium in Kanpur. Six teams will participate in the first season of UPT20 and will play from different cities like Varanasi, Meerut, Noida, Gorakhpur, Lucknow, and Kanpur. Arvind Srivastava, the UPCA Secretary, added, “Our aim is for the state to evolve into a prime nurturing ground for scouts, underscoring its immense potential in the world of sports”. This is the 10th state-based T20 league being held in the country. In contrast, the others are Andhra Premier League, Baroda T20 League, Karnataka Premier League, KCA President’s Cup T20, Maharashtra Premier League, Odisha Premier League, Saurashtra Premier League, T20 Mumbai League, and Tamil Nadu Premier League.
