Goodison-linked forward answers when asked about transfer amid Everton bid to sign him
talkSPORT on Saturday (19 August) that The Toffees had seen a £12million offer turned down by the Saints for the Scotland international as they look to improve their attacking options. When asked by Sky Sports journalist David Craig about his future after scoring the winning goal for the Championship side against Plymouth Argyle on Saturday, the 27-year-old said he was just focusing on his football at the moment in time despite the Blues’ interest. “I’m just enjoying my football at the minute and scoring goals,” he said. “That’s the most important thing and hopefully it continues.” It’s no real surprise that Adams has been pretty coy on his future as he doesn’t know whether or not he will still be a Southampton player for the rest of the season. The situation is currently out of his hands as the Saints have made it clear they don’t want to sell him after they rejected Everton’s £12million offer to sign him. After seeing a number of players move on for high transfer fees already this summer, they are not in a position where they have to sell the forward and will be hoping he can score the goals to fire them back up to the Premier League. Adams has had an excellent start to the season after finding the back the net in all three of the Championship side’s league games during this campaign. The Toffees are hoping to land a deal for the striker to improve their options up top, but it’s likely going to take a much more substantial bid to sign him during this transfer window.
