SWELTERING conditions in Texas have led one householder to come up with a clever way of keeping her home cooler inside. But she showed a lot of ingenuity in this post . She lives in a mobile home and corrugated iron at the back of her trailer is a magnet for heat. So Megan put into action her basic version of an evaporative cooling system. Directing water on the AC and the walls and roof of her home, brought blessed relief and lowered temperatures as the water evaporated, pulling the heat with it. In her video, she hauled a hose across her backyard to her air conditioning unit and sprayed it liberally with water. “Watering my air conditioner to cool the house down because [it's] Texas," she wrote. She urged others living in roasting conditions to follow suit. "These summer AC bills are no joke. I definitely water the whole house. I just start with the unit so a burst of cold hair goes through the vents first.” Her efforts certainly paid dividends: “I do it in combination with spraying the whole a** trailer down, the temperature inside drops a good four to five degrees." She'd also seen the benefits in her wallet too: “Before we started this our bill was in the $400s, which we have not seen this summer thank goodness.” Commenters offered further suggestions for a cooler house. “I always put a sprinkler on my roof.
