Helen Skelton forced to quit BBC radio show 'because of ex Richie Myler'

Helen Skelton has been forced to quit her BBC show due to ex Richie Myler's lack of commitment with her kids, according to reports. The BBC Strictly Come Dancing star stepped back from her BBC Radio Five Live show this weekend. A friend of Helen said the star has been "spread fairly wide" with looking after her children and that Richie is "not matching her commitment". They told MailOnline: "He has his new baby and rugby career, meaning he hasn't been able to help as much as he would ideally like. "And it's Helen who has been forced to make the most sacrifices, as the thought one of her kids could be playing sport with neither of their parents watching and cheering them on, breaks her heart. That's why she felt she had no choice but to quit the Sunday show, despite the fact she didn't really want to as it was a great opportunity in her career and she loved doing it." Skelton also competed on Strictly Come Dancing last year and finished as a runner-up with professional partner Gorka Marquez. Skelton, 40, broadcast her final show on Sunday morning after taking over the slot from former Love Island host Laura Whitmore. During the last show, her fellow 5 Live presenter Steve Crossman admitted he was emotional that she was leaving "for now", to which Skelton replied: "I know, I don't want to but an eight-year-old will be happy about it." Last year, Helen announced that she and England and Leeds Rhinos rugby star Richie Myler, 33, had decided to go their separate ways. Richie moved on with Stephanie Thirkill, the daughter of Leeds Rhinos' president, and the couple welcomed a new child together in May.
