The Ibrox side set up a Champions League playoff round rematch with the Eredivise cracks a year on from dumping them out at the same stage in 2022. A 1-1 draw against Servette saw the Light Blues through 3-2 on aggregate after james tavernier cancelled out Dereck Kutesa's stunning opener. It should have been more comfortable for Gers in the second half with Cyriel Dessers missing a couple of good chances. But none of them held a candle to the sitter missed by Danilo in the first 45. The £5.3million Brazilian sent the ball when presented with an open goal. "It was a fantastic cross and Dani's in the right areas.," Beale told BBC Scotland. "So is Abdallah (Sima), we've got two on two in the box. They made the movements that we want them to make, it's just that I'm backing Dani to score that more often than not. Their guy had an excellent finish and we had similar opportunities two or three times and don't hit the target." Michael Beale Asked if his new strikeforce were showing him enough given the money spent, Beale replied: "Well they've all scored a goal so that's the positive. We're only three or four games into the season and these games are difficult away from home in Europe. I've been involved in around 60 of them now and they're difficult. "The next one, we need to improve. The level goes up now with PSV. We know how big a game that was for both clubs last year. It's huge again this year. They're in good form. But listen, it's Rangers, it's Ibrox and next week we'll go hell for leather." As for the 90 minutes as a whole, Beale admitted some home truths had to be told at half-time in order to provoke the required response. James Tavernier scores to make it 1-1 "Really slow start," he said. "The crowd was up, it's a warm night and we started okay. Then we conceded a goal and you're thinking we need to dig in. Jack made a couple of big saves and we did have moments in the first half. The biggest one is Danilo's miss - it was a fantastic cross from Cifuentes, who for his second game for Rangers I thought had another really positive night. Him and Raskin were good. "At half-time we had to have some strong words because it wasn't the performance we were looking for in loads of areas. Second half, we improved greatly. We got our full backs up the pitch, got more control and played with more tempo, both in our running and passing. "It was an excellent goal. A fantastic cross from Borna and James getting in there at the far post. After that we could have extended our lead. We had a couple of great chances and Cyriel's really unlucky hitting the post."
