The northbound carriageway is shut to traffic between Junction 10 (Duxford) and Junction 11 (Cambridge). National Highways has said the closure is in place to repair a carriageway defect. It is currently unclear when the motorway will reopen. A National Highways spokesperson said: "The M11 northbound is closed between J10 (Whittlesford/Duxford) and J11 (Cambridge) for emergency resurfacing works to repair a carriageway defect. Please allow extra travel time if travelling in the area." Diversion route: A diversion is now in place due to the M11 closure in Cambridgeshire There is also a separate planned closure on the southbound carriageway from Junction 10. Drivers are being advised to factor extra time into their journeys. "Inrix, the traffic data company, said: "M11 Southbound closed due to roadworks during the night from J10 A505 ( Duxford ) to J8 A120 (Bishops Stortford). Until 5:00 on August 16."
