The Matildas are playing Sweden in Brisbane tonight for the bronze medal at the FIFA Women's World Cup . As the Matildas have done all tournament, special mention was made to the traditional owners of the land at the stadium they are playing in, this time Brisbane Stadium. The post that 'triggered' some fans before the FIFA Women's World Cup clash between Australia and Sweden One of the tweets complaining about the post put out by the Matildas ahead of their clash against Sweden 'Today we are playing on Yuggera & Turrbal country,' the Matildas social media team posted. 'We acknowledge the Yuggera & Turrbal peoples as the first Custodians of the land, air and water where Brisbane Stadium is situated today, and we pay our respect to their Elders past, present and emerging. We also acknowledge all the great non indigenous Australians that have made Brisbane a magnificent place it is today. As Australians we are all custodians of the land, air and water.' 'I support the Matildas. I won't support this divisive woke politics which makes a mockery of Aboriginal people and only holds them back through the glamorisation of victimhood,' one follower complained under the post. 'Custodians of the air. We've lost the plot,' added another. 'Oh for goodness sake, stop this rubbish and just focus on the game,' suggested another. While most people were content to ignore the trolls that have followed the Matildas social media throughout the tournament, some bit back. 'Cue all the triggered racists,' posted on Matildas fan with a laughing emoji. 'I like it when they all crawl out from under their rocks together to say some stupid s***. I get to squash (block) a whole bunch of them at once,' posted another. 'So many snowflakes triggered by using a traditional name, you love to see it,' added yet another. The Matildas have kicked off in their third place playoff against Sweden at Brisbane Stadium, with a history-making bronze medal finish on the line.
