An American tourist has sparked fierce debate after claiming she forked out $100 for breakfast in Paris but found it "disgusting". After posting details of her meal in the French capital, Dasia Jacobs divided TikTok users on whether America or France offers the best breakfast. Going by the username @dasiavu__ on, Dasia made a video during her holiday in Paris as she vlogged a breakfast out. She is seen heading to the cafe and ordering a juice, which she says: “It was actually tasty and I should have drunk every little inch of it if I would have known what was gonna happen" - before she claims things started to go downhill. Dasia goes on to show her order of a burger and French toast, which looked to be one piece of bread covered in fruit and ice cream. She says: “What the frick is that?" she asked viewers as she showed off the plate of food. “Disgusting. The berries were most similar to red currants, which are native to western Europe and are less common in the US. Dasia claims she was also left with stomach ache after ordering a slice of bacon that came with too much fat, she says - adding "It was tasty-ish. But it was super fatty and now my stomach hurts, not gonna lie to you." The footage shows Dasia tasting watermelon, a croissant, a pancake, some cheese, and a piece of salami, and then said she was charged $52.50. Combined with her $48 cafe breakfast, Jacobs paid a total of $100 for breakfast that day. She adds: "Are you freaking joking? I was sick, y’all, I had to go to bed." Since being posted on 9 July, the clip has been viewed more than 400,000 times. Some of the comments questioned why Jacobs was being too harsh with her critiques of the food, saying she should have known better. One viewer wrote: "It looks delicious and for future reference check out the country you’re going to regarding their food or what breakfast is included or not included." - while another added: "Red currants aren’t fake fruits, they are part of the berry family. Other Americans offered tips on how they had eaten during trips to the city, with some saying they lived off baguettes while others headed to McDonald's most days. Another said they had found a Chipotle in Paris. Some suggested trying different cuisines, with one adding: "You should try west african food there like Sengalese food, Malian food, Beninese. Also lots of South east asian food like Cambodia, Laotian, etc."
